The List of Japanese Nail Polish Brands

Since I've been posting my nails on Google+ and Instagram, people ask me what brand/color I use for them so I decided to share with you some good Japanese nail polish brands I picked. The order is not ranking or anything, I just list them up and I've used some of these but not everything. I'll try to get and use one of each brand and write a review of it later though.

1. Art Collection

¥100

I've actually never used these nails but this brand is one of the most popular nail polishes at the well-known Japanese beauty products review site. And surprisingly, it's just a dollar! It doesn't look like that, does it? I will definitely try it out!

2. Canmake
¥360
I love canmake's nail polishes. Canmake is a cosmetic brand so originally more famous for their makeup than nail polishes but recently it's been getting popular so much. It has a nice range of colors and those colors are from little shimmer and no shimmer, with glitters but very watery so you need to coat a few times to be opaque. Pretty colors, first dry, inexpensive, non streak, cute packaging. However, the only thing I don't like about them is that they dry up too fast and thicken up if I don't use that often.

3. Integrate Gracy by Shiseido

¥400

4. Addiction

¥1,800

Addiction is a makeup brand and getting popular for fashionista. I've never used any of their products but the brand image is stylish and mode. Minimal packaging and very simple. I feel like it more western look.

5. CosmeDecorte AQ

¥2,000
I just purchased BE843 the other day, and I'm so in love it. It's a bit pricey for me but the color is matte pink-beige and absolutely beautiful and elegant. The brush is kind of thick and hard so it gives very easy to paint and its tip is slightly arched to fit the roots of nails well. It doesn't streak and opaque in 2 coats.

6. Ettusais

¥252
Recently released. 12 colors total.  Very tiny bottle. almost a half size of the CosmeDecorte ones. I prefer this size since I've never used them up and usually they end up with drying up. Ettusais is basically known for an affordable makeup brand and I'm familiar with it from high school. I am really loving its gel top coat, which gives the most beautiful shine and makes your nails look perfect gel made. I highly recommend it!!

7. Esprieque by KOSE

¥1,500
I only have one nail polish of this brand.

8. Majolica Majorca

¥380

9. Elizabeth

¥380

10. RMK

¥1,500

11. pa

12. Coffret dor by Kanebo

¥1,500

13. KATE by Kanebo

¥400

14. SUSIE.NY

¥800

15. Hanagoyomi

¥300

These brands below are not originally from Japan, but I don't see their cosmetic products in many countries, so I want to share with you. One thing I like about them is the
pretty, girly packaging

15. Anna Sui

¥1,500

I love the packaging so much. How adorable they are. The brush is a little firmer OPI and very easy to paint. Be flawless with just two coats and dries very fast. Another my favorite part of this is scented with flowers (maybe roses..?) and the smell lasts days later.

16. Jill Stuart

¥1,500
The bottle in princess jewel is simply gorgeous decorated with Swarovski rhinestone. They are easy to apply and spread very smoothly. Provide beautiful color with rich glow. A few coats to be perfect opaque. Quick-drying formula. Crystal floral bouquet fragrance.

13. Paul and Joe Beaute in English

I always wanted to get these nail polishes but I've never gotten to purchase yet. So I quote from www.ebeauty.ca.
Long-lasting polish that adds gorgeous shine and color for creating more beautiful nails. Nourishing botanicals hydrate, condition and protect to enhance both the health and appearance of the nails and cuticles.
"Paul & Joe Beaute is a beautiful collection of make-up, skincare & accessories designed by Paul & Joe fashion designer Sophie Mechaly." (from facebook page)

Most brands' websites are Japanese and don't offer any other languages(which is I'm really sorry to you guys). I'll try to write reviews as much as I can but you can ask me any questions anytime! I've been thinking to open my personal shopping service for Japanese beauty products
including skincare, makeup, nail, hair etc, but now I don't know the actual needs so if I could see many people want me to do it, I would love to do it :)

  1. This post was just what I was looking for! I remember a couple of brands from the time I was living in Japan, but the market is changing after all.
What I'm wondering though: Where would you pick up those brands, except for drugstores?
